Sharon Ness

A Picture of Sharon Ness paintingA lifetime resident of the Gitksan and Wet'suwet'en Territories, Sharon Ness belongs to the Fireweed Clan of the house group Tsibasaa. Sharon is a versatile artist with a strong background in the visual and media arts; specifically glass art, crafting and painting.

Sharon believes strongly in sharing our Gitksan traditions and willingly provides bentbox, paddle, plaque and smudge workshops for all ages to increase community participation.

Additionally, Sharon focuses on research and networking with Gitksan artisans to assist in the YHY mandate to ensure the transference and revitalization of traditional artistic knowledge and increasing our artistic capacity.

As part of the Youth Helping Youth Group, Sharon also provides organizational skills, research and computer support.
