A picture of Gitxsan artist Randy StephensA lifetime resident of the majestic Gitksan Wet'suwet'en Territories, located in the heart of British Columbia, Randy is a versatile artist who trained at the renowned 'Ksan Carving School.' A carver since 1980, Randy has a studio located at the Gitksan Wet'suwet'en Education Society building. Additionally, Randy also shares his expertise and talent in a mentorship capacity with the 'Youth Helping Youth Mentorship Program'.

Belonging to the Wolf clan, Randy is a man who reflects family unity and strong community leadership. Much of his artwork mirrors the spiritual strengths and hopes of the Gitksan Wet'suwet'en Nation. He is a Northwest Coast Artist who believes in keeping the traditions alive for future generations.

Randy's work can be found in both public and private collections across Canada and the US. In addition to carving totem poles, Randy enjoys carving masks, feast bowls, talking sticks, rattles, bentboxes, head-dresses, etc. Notably, he has accepted many commissions from the wolf, killerwhale, and frog clans for regalia items.
